Ruth-Boger Chapter # 669 OES-PHA Charlotte, North Carolina May 24, 1989

The initiation service of Ruth-Boger Chapter UD was called to order at 7:25 PM on May 24, 1989 by Brother James E. Harrell (Chairman of Trustee Grand Chapter OES-PHA and Past Patron of Golden Hue Chapter # 15) under the direction of the District Deputy of the 14th district Osie Ferguson. Prayer was offered by Brother Lewis Jackson.

At the request of acting Worthy Matron Florence Shepard of Christian Workers # 301. The Associate Conductress retired to the ante room and reported to the Worthy Patron there were six Master Masons entitled to the light and knowledge of our order. After all questions were answered satisfactorily the Conductress led to the Associate Matron, Brothers from Paul Drayton lodge # 7-Brothers Waymon Tate Jr., W. M. Thomas Helms Jr., S. W. James Jones, Artis Johnson and Brothers from Unique Lodge # 85- Brothers-W. M. Ronald Miller and George Morris. The Brothers were welcomed and willingly assumed the obligations and responsibilities of the order. The Brothers were seated in the Southeast as we sang, we are climbing Jacob’s ladder. At the request of the Worthy-Patron the Associate Conductress retired to the ante room and reported that ten ladies were present and desirous of being initiated into our order. The Associate Conductress reported that petitions had been received, and all ladies had been voted to receive the degrees of the order. After all questions were answered satisfactorily, the candidates were prepared and conducted around the room to the west. The Conductress introduced Mrs. Naomi Jackson, Mrs. Marilyn Clegg, Mrs. Willie Mae Williams, Miss Loretta Williams, Mrs. Joyce Smith, Mrs. Ethel Helms, Mrs. Delores Peay and Miss Karen Williams. (Ruth-Boger Chapter) Mrs. Shirley Pendergrass and Mrs. Donna Fant (Golden Hue # 15) to the Associate Matron All were properly initiated, instructed and equipped with the necessary information to proceed with the work of the order. Sister Minnie Torrence of Golden Hue # 15 gave highlights of the degrees as the candidates were being escorted around the room. The signs, passes, mottos, word and grip were given to all initiated members, this concluded the initiation of Ruth-Boger Chapter UD.
